P Company is the Army's Pegasus Company, responsible for Pre-Parachute Selection for qualifying Airborne Forces personnel. It is a later military milestone, separate from the Basic Parachute Course. Civilian applicants need the appropriate Army entry route first.
An official military course
Reputation can obscure sequence. Many people first hear about the tests, long before they understand the Army training and eligibility that precede them. The British Army describes the purpose of Pre-Parachute Selection as assessing physical fitness, determination and mental robustness for qualifying Airborne Forces roles.

What it means for your next step
If you have not joined, choose the role and Regular or Reserve route first, then check the Army's current application guidance. If you are serving, ask your chain of command which stages apply to you and when. Keep the published sequence beside your training notes so you can see where general civilian conditioning fits—and where official instruction takes over.
Know what is awarded by whom
Pegasus Company runs Army Pre-Parachute Selection for eligible personnel. The Army decides the tests, pass outcomes and the award of the maroon beret. A civilian site can explain the public pathway but must not imply that it administers, assesses or sells the Army qualification. That boundary protects both candidates and the meaning of the course.
Context is not current instruction
A former soldier's photographs or account may document real experience. It does not establish the training schedule for the next intake. Current military staff and individual joining instructions remain authoritative. It helps to write down which information is public context and which is directly relevant to the candidate's confirmed service route.
Apply this at your actual stage
Read the Army's current Pegasus Company overview, then ask which part of the description is an entry condition, an assessment purpose or an outcome. Separate each from optional civilian conditioning advice.
