Build the prerequisites
General strength, aerobic capacity, practical movement skills and recovery are sensible foundations, but actual load progression should be overseen by the relevant professionals.
Official Army direction comes first
Serving personnel should follow their own unit's training staff and medical requirements. Sudden heavy loads and unverified timings can create avoidable harm.
Avoid recreating a military assessment
Heavy loading is not a harmless proxy for determination. P Company operates in a structured Army training environment with its own supervision and assessment. A public website cannot safely prescribe individual pack weights or route timings to anonymous readers. Work with competent professionals when considering new physical demands.
Account for everything else in your week
Running, strength work, paid employment, travel and recovery all contribute to the overall picture. Adding loaded sessions without changing anything else may create avoidable fatigue. Serving personnel must follow their unit's training and medical staff rather than a contradictory civilian template. Persistent pain deserves appropriate professional assessment.
Apply this at your actual stage
Before any unfamiliar loaded movement, ask a qualified coach why it is needed, how it fits into your current week and what would make you stop. If there is no clear answer, do not improvise an unofficial march.
